Solar boat hull foam (TS0403) each
This closed cell foam is easily worked using simple hand tools such as fine saws, trimming knives, abrasive paper and files. The material may be drilled using conventional hand or power drills.
Double sided adhesive foam tapes may be used to join the material to itself or components to it.
This foam is lightweight, does not absorb water and unlike white styrofoam does not crumble and create a 'snow storm' in the immediate work area nor does the surface 'crumble' as it is worked.
For more sophisticated use the foam may be shaped using a 3D milling machine such as the Roland MDX-15 and MDX-20 machines.
By using the freeware software program, Freeship, hull designs may easily be made and the resulting file utilised by the above mentioned milling machines. URL www.freeship.org
Equally the foam may be utilised as a medium for shaping rocket powered dragster either by hand or using software developed shapes and milling machines (CAD-CAM)
