Propeller boat: two blade on a shaft (TS0409)

This is a combination of a small 2-blade 30 mm diameter propeller on a pultruded carbon fibre shaft 280 mm x 2 mm diameter and contained within a self lubricating polypropylene bearing tube. Each set is supplied with a flexible universal joint, (silicone tube) for ease of connection to motors with 2 mm drive shafts.

A suitable component for the ‘model solar boat competition' conducted in many primary schools.

Please note that the propeller shaft is designed to pass into the water at a diagonal angle to the boat hull. This may mean that the shaft passes through the 'hull' in a watertight manner or extends over the stern of the hull being fixed to the transom. Either method requires that a connection be made between the motor shaft and the propeller shaft. One method is to slip a flexible piece of tubing over both shafts.
